What is airbrush/spray tanning?
A trained professional from Tantrix will spray the special tanning formula onto your body. The amino acids on your skin's surface will respond naturally to the DHA(dihydroxyacetone) and other complementing ingredients in the tanning formula to produce the most beautiful sunless tan you've ever seen.

Tanning with DHA: What is It?

How long should my tan last?
Depends on your skin type, how you maintain the tan, frequency of bathing, exercising, etc..., but generally lasts 7-10 days.

How long does a tanning session take?
A typical tanning session will take 15-20 minutes, but can vary depending on the level of customization you request.

Once the tanning session is complete, remember it takes several hours for the color to develop. You will initially see some color from the bronzer used in the tanning process, but you won't see your actual results for up to 12 hours.

What do I need to do before my appointment?
1. Exfoliate your skin the night before. This promotes an even coverage and lengthens the duration of your tan by removing dead skin that would otherwise flake off.

2. Shave/wax at least 8 hours before your tanning appointment.

3. Avoid wearing make-up and moisturizer as this acts as a barrier to the spray and stops the process from working properly.

4. Wear dark loose fitting clothing and undergarments to your tanning appointment. The cosmetic bronzer may rub off on clothing, however it will wash out of most fabrics except for nylons and silks.

How do I maintain my tan?
1. Wait at least 6-10 hours before washing the tanning formula off.

2. Apply moisturizer morning and evening after your post-tan shower. Avoid moisturizers with AHA because they promote exfoliation.

3. Avoid long hot showers and baths, and scrubbing the skin excessively. Pat your skin dry after bathing or showering.

4. Chlorine in swimming pools and hot tubs can remove or shorten the longevity of your tan.

5. Take care when exercising as friction and excess sweat may cause your tan to fade prematurely or unevenly.
